General
Appearance: Slightly olive-toned skin with violet eyes and a slightly narrow face. Her nose is hooked and prominent, paired with pencil-thin eyebrows that seem set in a permanent furrow. She wears her brightly auburn hair long and tied into a ponytail going to her mid-back with three leather ties in it, a different color of bead attached to each. Generally speaking, she keeps the long braid tucked under her shirt to prevent it from being an easy lever or handhold for an opponent. Her fingers are thin and slightly long but with calluses that indicates someone very used to using her hands for rough work. Tall for her age and distinctly slender. Her most unusual feature is that although she doesn't belong to any particular clan, she regularly applies and reapplies a pair of black markings that run from the midbridge of her nose, under her lower eyelids out to the outer corner of her eyes and then curve downwards to points just at the edge of her jaw muscles. They tend to be very rough and uneven but her constant practice on them seems to indicate that they bear some manner of importance to her.

Personality: Rosie tends to be formal in her speech and oddly solemn for a young teen. She's quick to show a shy little smile or a bit of kindness whenever she sees the opportunity but any sort of disorder, joking, tricks or any manner of fun or frivolity causes her to shut down and ice over, instantly earning a sort of prim disdain from her and a stark refusal to speak to the more merry-making children or even adults. Even when she's drawn into this atmosphere by the effects splashing over her (often literally), she exudes a visible effort to shut out the lightheartedness and its participants from her awareness.
History: The only child of Ersari and Elena Blytraviin, Rosemarius was born to the life of a manual craftsman and as the only child, she was expected to help as if she was a male child. She hauled wood for the kiln, chopped clay, learned to kick the potter's wheel, and did the carrying and hefting around the house. Although her parents were as kind as a child could ask and audibly dreamed of seeing their child rise from their station and accomplish better things, any sort of desire for play or silliness was burned out of Rosie by the life she grew up in.
She became a very practical and pragmatic child, seeing no point to things that didn't relate to her craft or the daily work that needed doing. She also took the meanest and silliest task quite seriously, treating such small things as cutting clay into blocks with a gravity far more than warranted, even bringing out a straight edge and a measuring rod before her father gently told her to stop being ridiculous about getting the measurements so precise. Suffice it to say, Rosie grew up with absolutely no friends. Not that other children didn't try to befriend her and include her, but Rosie grew bored of games quickly and developed an icy demeanor when anyone tried to involve her. As children are wont to do, those her own age tended to tease and mock her and occasionally cross over into pushing her around; all of this, Rosemarius worked to ignore and the mockery grew less and less frequent as Rosie proved to be such a wet blanket that even teasing and pranking her wasn't fun.
Although this unhealthy level of seriousness and focus did her no favors in learning how to relate to other people and exist in the world outside her parents' shop and home, it appeared to cultivate an inborn facility with her chakra because as she came to learn what it was and how it could be used, she found it intuitive and natural, doing as she required with relatively little effort. While simple potters in profession, Rosemarius' parents lacked nothing in intelligence and insight and came to realize that the higher destiny they wanted for their child was at hand: their Rosie would be a shinobi and do good for the village of Konoha far above and beyond what she could do for it with the skills of a craftsman. Ever the respectful daughter and strongly inclined towards this by her natural pragmatism, Rosemarius duly applied herself to enter the academy and receive formal training in how to best use her inborn gifts.
