PostSubject: Seresana sensei's first try   Seresana sensei's first try I_icon_minitimeSun Jul 26, 2015 6:09 pm

It was a warm and sunny day, with scattered clouds lazily drifting through the open sky and a gentle breeze that rustled the grass, leaves, and bushes. Seresana happily strode towards one of the training grounds today with only a few clear intentions for the day, but for the most part she was just going to the training grounds to practice a bit more, especially now that she was a genin. That last fight she'd had against that thug Vismar had shown wonders that Seresana needed to take this really seriously. If she hadn't been as careful as she had been, then who knows what one of those fire jutsu he'd been using might have done to her, though she kept her concerns about such a happening silent, lest she cause undue worry for her companion.

Seresana took a moment to glance up to the taller form of Sylvan who was walking next to her. A little while ago, Seresana had agreed to teach Sylvan a jutsu and a good day for such a thing had finally arrived, and so they were now headed towards the training grounds with the small lake. It didn't take long for them to arrive, and Seresana wasted no time in striding towards the lake with Sylvan hopefully in tow. She turned around then with a flourish in her newly modified outfit. It was still the same white shirt with the two green colored cloth ties around her chest and waist, though the usual third one on her right arm had more or less been permanently replaced with her headband awarded for becoming a genin. There was also a new dark purple leather vest she now sported with the leaf village insignia emblazoned on it's back. Her pants with their cloth ties, and her wooden shoes were the same as well, right along with the bandage wrap around the full length of her left arm.

"Alright, so we'll be using the lake over there to practice on since it's a bit softer to land in water than on the hard ground," Seresana said with a point to the body of water behind her, more or less oblivious to anyone else who might have been currently in the training grounds today.

There was indeed someone there already. Near the lakes edge glancing down toward's the ground. Skin was white a porcelain, and an outfit that certainly stuck out compared to the norm. Her upper body was less covered, rather there was something covering the important bits and they stuck to her body, from the looks of it, it was simply leaves that cupped her breasts like a nature made bra. and it looked to go around her sides connecting around her back. On her arms were long sleeves that covered her hands entirely and were a pastel pink color that faded into white the further down her arm it went. Around her neck were pink chokers of an intricate design.

On her head there were, what looked to be, two flower buds. One was closed and the other was in full bloom and covered most of her head, partially hiding the fact that she has orange-red hair. From her waist like it appeared to be more lush green leaves sticking tight to her waist and going down, though her legs were completely hidden from view because of the long, large pink petals that hung down like the bottom half of a gown. Peeking between the pink petals were green leaves as well. Though if one glanced very carefully, you could see her feet just barely in view at the bottom of it all and it was completely covered in leaves, in a very strong lush green color. Rather a lot of her color seemed fairly strong, kinda like plants when they're really healthy and well taken care of.

She had large eyes, her eye color looked like a deep ocean blue. She was taking very small steps and her mouth was moving as if she were talking to something.

"So then what happened?"

there was a short pause and she nodded her head, her arms moving behind her back.

"Oh, I see... I'm sorry that has happened to you. These human's just don't seem to understand the importance of everyone of you. Well at least, let's look at it this way, thankfully the daughter took you out here and placed you in someplace safer, surely you would have been squashed if her parents got to you."

She fell silent once again and nodded her head.

"Exactly! So go on and enjoy yourself and spend the time you have left out in nature where it's so much better. Go on now."

Shortly after than she would give a serene smile as soon a beetle fly up in front of her, hovered there for a second and then took of into the sky and across the lake, to which she would lift her head from the ground, look to he bug and then watch the bug fly off.

Sylvan was quite excited. Sena had agreed to teach her the levitation jutsu, which would aid her in reaching the tallest trees. To the best of her knowledge, Sen hadn't done anything like this before, so it would be a learning experience for both of them. 'You manage to pack a lot of implications into the phrase "learning experience".' 'What do you mean?' 'Well, for starters, we could end up like that one poor bastard.' 'Could you be more specific?' 'The one that rocketed himself off a tree headfirst into a  brick-wall and presumably died...?' 'Oh yeah! Him.' 'Yeah. This could potentially kill us if we screw it up.' 'Sena will be there watching us, won't she?' 'Think for a moment; how much experience do you think Seresana has in rescuing students from getting their heads bashed in?' 'uhhhhh...' 'Exactly! So we need to be extremely careful during practice. Seresana would be distraught if we up and died in her care.' ’True….. ’Trust me on this one. We need to be careful.’ ’Aren’t we always?’ ’Yeah, but we need to be extra careful this time! If we die, it’ll also really hurt a lot of people more than it normally would.’ ’It would? Why would they care, we aren’t there anymore… I don’t understand! Wait, why do you care? You always seem kinda bored whenever this sort of thing comes up.’ ’Because I am! It’s boring an unnecessary in my opinion, but if it makes my little sister happy I’ll grit my teeth and bear it.’ ’D’awwww thanks!’ ’Don’t mention it.’
Today, Sena had apparently chosen the lake for their practice. This suited Sylvna just fine, for multiple reasons and multiple Sylvans. From a purely practical standpoint, over water was a good place to be if one’s upward propulsion where to suddenly fail in any capacity, whether it cut off or burn its entirety in a brief burst; of course, the latter implied one would then fall back to the earth, or lake in this case, at speed. Such would be intensely fatal, if not outright painful, and therefor something to be avoided at all costs. They did not want their existence to come to an end over something as trivial as that, after all. It would be embarrassing, even if they would no longer be alive to feel such a frivolous yet binding emotion. They xdid not struggle as much with emotions as they used to. By pooling their knowledge of social conventions and the desire to act them out, they were able flail their way through most interactions. They weren’t always as quick on the uptake as others, but they could manage.
When they arrived at the lake, someone was already there. She reminded Sylvan a bit of herself, in that she was adorned with plant matter. Her adornments seemed much more thought out, rather than miscellaneous twigs strewn through out her hair as with Sylvan. Turning to Seresana, Sylvan says. “Sena. There is someone already here. How are we to deal with this? It would be bad if one of us landed on them.”

PostSubject: Re: Seresana sensei's first try   Seresana sensei's first try I_icon_minitimeThu Jul 30, 2015 7:01 pm

"Huh?" Seresana repeated as she quickly turned about to look back out across the lake to see if indeed their training area was contested by the presence of another. At first, Seresana didn't even notice the other person walking near the lakes edge, but then her eyes made the distinction that it wasn't just some plants, that it was a person wearing plants that was walking around the edge of the lake. Seresana had to take a moment to just observe this new entity as she didn't immediately look familiar, she couldn't recall anyone with that white of skin and that orange of hair, though she then reasoned that she had actually graduated the academy and someone new could have joined in after that time. Still, that didn't mean Seresana couldn't find the outfit the new girl was wearing interesting, the flowers in her hair intriguing, or her very presence a curiosity. She didn't seem to have any training gear on her or really seemed to be in the middle of training, in fact, Seresana was steadily becoming more curious as a bug flew away from this new girl.

"Oh, well I guess there is another here Syl," Seresana finally replied when she found herself able to break the examination she'd be giving the other girl. "Hehe, shouldn't be a problem though since we'll be practicing out in the lake, so unless she decides to go for a swim, we shouldn't have to worry about you landing on her," Seresana replied with a sweet smile back to Sylvan. "But why don't we go and introduce ourselves first off, she doesn't exactly look threatening or mean after all," Seresana added before recalling Sylvan's reluctance and disfavor for larger crowds of people. To alleviate that though, Seresana took up Sylvan's hand to offer some reassurance before saying, "we'll go together, so it'll be okay." Seresana then started leading Sylvan gently over towards the new girl until they were standing right near her.

"Heya, my name's Seresana Hatasuko," Seresana started off, but then paused again as she got a better look at the new girl's outfit and became distracted by the way it hugged her form and the way it acted. "Uh, oh umm, we were going to be using this training field, or well the lake at least," Seresana stammered slightly as she recovered herself and stopped the borderline invasive starring. "I was going to try and teach my friend here a new jutsu, and you're free to watch or even join in, just thought it'd be best to warn you because there might be some splashing," Seresana added as her usual cheerful grin finally resurfaced in full force as she smiled happily up to Kisayuri.

Watching the bug fly off into the distance, she kept her vision upon it until she could no longer see it. Once it was out of site she would smile and sigh in relief and bring her head back down and raise her hands to her chest. "I hope they find peace in the time they have left. May Mother bless your wings and provide you ample feed." she said in a low whisper to herself as she would then turn so her back would be to the two new people that were arriving to the lake area. She glanced out towards the lake and she smiled, the water looked so nice and rather refreshing. She closed her eyes and took a moment to feel the area around her, and just relish in the nice breeze that was there. Her petals would very lightly flutter in the breeze and she would give a "Mmmmmm....." sound indicating that was she was rather pleased by the feeling of it.

Then in the midst of her enjoying the scenery and the area around her there was something disturbing her peace. Her eyes would open and she heard an introduction. It took her a moment to realize it was directed at her as she actually looked once to the left and once to the right to see if there was anyone else. But alas there was no one else around, so she then turned around to see if there was someone else and lo and behold! There were two people there. Kisayuri would blink and stare at them. She didn't respond, not just yet as she would look between the two contemplating, pondering.

Then the one who had introduced themselves as Serasana would continue to speak, apparently, according to her, they were going to use this lake for training. She at this point would look to the lake a moment and tilt her head. How were they going to use the lake for training? Gaidoku told her nothing about using lakes for training. She would look back toward's Serasana as she would nod her head. "Okay." was her only response, though the thoughts in her head was Why are they talking to me? Why do I need to know she is teaching her friend? Human's are peculiar. There was a short pause as Kisayuri looked them both up and down, her gaze quite gentle. "Just don't hurt the area." and shortly after she said that she would turn around and look at the water of the lake, and then she squatted down and reaches out for it. Her fingers grazing the surface of the lake. She had a light shiver run through her body at the feeling of the lake water touching her skin.

Sylvan was confused by this new person. She had plants all around her. It was ... beautiful. Not in the way that a person is beautiful, but in the way that a forest is. She was speaking to something. A bug had just flown off, perhaps that was it? Strange. Sylvan rarely spoke to bugs. She had tried reasoning with rabbits and bargaining with bears, but they never answered her back. Perhaps she just wasn't interesting enough. Maybe this girl had that problem too, and had found that bugs were always willing to talk. Sylvan wasn't sure. Bugs always seemed fidgety, never in one place for long. Yet at the same time, they would follow you form room to room, listening to your plight. Perhaps she could compare notes with the girl on the attitudes of various entities found in Konoha. That would be fun. She would have to do it when Sena wasn't with her though. She doubted the girl was interested in that sort of thing. 'She would do one of two things. Either humor us and awkwardly pretend she knew what was going on, or try to "help" us.' 'Really?' Yes. Trust me on this one.' 'What do you mean by "help"?' 'I'll tell you when you're older.' 'Arrrrrgh! You're insufferable!' 'That's my job.'
Sylvan would at this point realize that Sena was pulling her towards social interaction. Normally she would be resisting, but she had planned to speak with this girl anyways. Thus, she let herself be pulled along, quietly amused at the situation. "Certainly Sena." Sylvan says quietly.
As they approach the plant person, Sylvan chooses to let Sena handle most of the interaction while The Dark Thing formulated a conversation opener.

Seresana nodded with a smile back to the still nameless person sitting by the water's edge. "We'll try to be careful," she said before looking towards the nearby trees until she found one that was leaning over the water a good ways with a few strong and thicker branches. With a point at the tree, Seresana looked back over to Sylvan and said "we'll use that one there Syl, that way just in case you fall you won't be hurt."

Then Seresana walked over to the tree and started to climb it, making her way up the branches with practiced ease until she was standing on a thicker branch that hung out a good ways over the water. Despite her rather light weight, the tree's branch barely even registered her presence with any movement. Once up there, Seresana bid Sylvan up as well, knowing that the other girl would have as little or even less trouble than she did thanks to her height and even greater amount of time spent in trees. There she would wait for Sylvan to do her introductions and maybe even talk to the nameless girl and then eventually join her in the tree above.

Her ocean like eyes would stare at Serasana a moment longer watching her as she smiled and then Kisayuri would nod her head when she stated they will try to be careful. In her mind she mulled at the possibilities of damages they could cause. She'd had to make sure to stick around and be absolutely certain she didn't need to do any clean up after they did whatever it was they were planning to do. She eyed Serasana as she headed for a tree and began to climb it. Kisayuri watching her would cringe a moment, though she knew very well that, that didn't really hurt the tree, but still...it bothered her whenever she saw the human children climbing trees. Why can they be like momma and jump into them? Or walk up alongside them... She kept silent and it was a moment before she had realized there was the other person there, one who only stared and spoke not a word. Her gaze returned only to look at the quiet girl.

This gaze went on longer than she had wanted, and without a single other utter of a word from her, she would turn away and walk away from Sylvan, keeping to the edge of the lake. She didn't go off to far, her gaze going from the lake surface and then up to the sky, she was trying to find a good spot to settle herself down at. She hadn't eaten, correction, she hasn't absorbed her needed energy for the day. So she had to feel it out, where the sun hit her petals the best along the lake.

Kisayuri kept to herself while the other two were there, not bothering them, though her time there didn't last for too long before someone, or something else showed up, a rather short, humanoid reptile of feminine beauty had appeared. "Kiss, I'm going to need your help with something." Kisayuri would lift her gaze to the woman that suddenly appeared next to her and smiled big. "Oh, Momma! Of course. Did something happen?" She gave a light shrug and responded. "There is a flytrap incident in the forest and it would be easier if you helped out." Kisayuri would nod her head lifting her arms rather eager. "Of course, I'll help you. Let's get going."

The reptilian woman would nod her head as she placed a hand on Kisayuri's shoulder and suddenly there would be a torrent of leaves swirling around them both as they disappeared from sight.

Sylvan prepares to make her attempt at introductions, but stops. 'What's wrong?' 'Something feels off. And anyways, she's leaving. No need for introductions.' 'True enough. Maybe we'll find her later.' Sylvan watches the strange flower person leave, feeling a tad disappointed at the loss of social activity, but there was nothing for it. The time for action had passed, and she had done nothing. 'We'll do better next time.' 'Sena might be upset.'
Shrugging indifferently, Sylvan walks over to the tree, effortlessly scaling it and sitting up next to Sena. blushing, Sylvan turns to Sena. "S-Sorry Sena. I- um.... She had business elsewhere. She said that. So... There's wasn't time? She was very pretty though. Maybe we will meet her again sometime."

PostSubject: Re: Seresana sensei's first try   Seresana sensei's first try I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 20, 2016 12:16 pm

From her higher vantage point, Seresana was watching Sylvan make her attempt at an introduction when a being Seresana had not only never seen before, but had yet to even see anyone truly like this woman before. There were clear distinctions that made her a woman, and human like, but then there were almost equally clear attributes that set her into a new category. It was certainly an interesting sight though that had Seresana's rapt attention right up until an almost equally curious event happened. The pale girl called this new being "momma", and nearly sent Seresana recoiling in shock to the point of falling backwards off the tree, but she managed keep herself up on the branch and able to somewhat overhear what they were talking about.

She got as far as something about a flytrap when Seresana realized exactly what she'd been doing, and how rude it truly was. Here she was not just blatantly staring at a young girl and her mother who were quite possibly more than sick of the act, but also eavesdropping on their conversation. That realization also nearly sent the young girl reeling off her perch in the tree, but once more she was able to catch herself and remain. Seresana then stood up, preparing to go down and properly greet this... woman, but before she could even get out the first word, they'd disappeared from sight in a swirl of leaves. Seresana recognized the jutsu, and briefly looked around to see if they'd just gone to someplace nearby, but her search yielded nothing and her head slumped back down. "I'll have to remember to apologize to them both next time I see them," Seresana thought to herself while Sylvan clambered up the tree as well.

"Huh?" Seresana replied at first, but when Sylvan elaborated, her "sorry" made more sense and Seresana just grinned back at Sylvan, maybe a little sheepishly. "Hey, it's okay Syl," Seresana said comfortingly while lifting a hand to rest on the taller girl's shoulder. "She was... they both were pretty, and I'm sure we'll meet them again sometime, they're members of the leaf village, right?" she asked rhetorically. "So you and me both will have a proper chance to meet them," SEresana said before adding in, "and I can apologize for all the starring," in a whisper.

Before Sylvan would have a chance to question it though, Seresana threw up her arms and called out in a louder tone to cover it up, "anyways though, we came out here to do some practice. So let's get to it!" she exclaimed excitedly. "Alright, I was going to teach you the levitation jutsu. As you're probably aware it's a wind style jutsu, and so you'll need to learn how to send you chakra out into the air around you, stirring up the powerful winds that'll keep you elevated. Then once you've managed to get off the ground, you'll need to lessen the force and focus on maintaining it to remain at a current level of elevation. There is however several things that go wrong. During your take off, if you don't have strong enough winds, you won't get off they ground, and if it's too strong you end up going far too high. And it doesn't get easier once you're in the air either. You have maintain a certain level of control over the wind currents because for about the same reasons, if you let them get too powerful, you end up going too high and the fall could injure you. Not enough and you'll just plummet. That's why we'll be practicing over the water here, so just in case you do fall, all you have to worry about is a few damp clothes. Now here's the sequence of handsigns," Seresana explained before going through the motions of the jutsu, taking care to move through the signs slow enough that Sylvan wouldn't have any trouble seeing them in all detail. "When you're ready, move out a little farther onto the edge of the branch and give it a go."

PostSubject: Re: Seresana sensei's first try   Seresana sensei's first try I_icon_minitimeFri Jan 29, 2016 9:46 pm

Sylvan would be quite happy that dear Sena was not disappointed in her. It was quite painful to have people you respected be disappointed in you, after all, and Sylvan respected Sena more than anyone else. She attempts to lean on the smaller girl, but gives up at a few futile tries. Sylvan was more likely to knock them both out of the tree or pin Sena beneath her than accomplish leaning. She was also glad that Sena agreed with her about the two strange people being beautiful. She wasn't sure why that mattered so much, but some part of her said it might've caused offense. 'Though in hindsight, not with Seresana.' 'What do you mean?' 'I'll tell you when you're older.' 'Just tell me now!' 'No. You should keep you innocence while you still can. Go on, enjoy your time with Seresana, while I ponder the meaning of life.' 'That's all you ever do!' 'Well, it IS something to think about! If we understand the meaning of life, then we can derive true satisfaction from it! 'Have we been listening to a snake-oil salesman again? 'Shut up.'
"Staring? Why were you staring?" Sylvan manages to get out, her keen hearing easily picking out the short phase. She has learned enough of Sena by this point to recognize topics she wants to move off of though, and drops the subject. She was quite proud of that actually. Reading other people was not always her strong suit, and many a time she had made grave miscalculations. She still regretted what had happened to that one poor lad's arm, but, in her own defense, he could've been a lot more specific. The medical-mins told her he'd be fine, for some reason. Apparently the assumption was that she'd feel bad for hurting him. Had anyone bothered to pay attention, they would've immediately realized she didn't care. Sylvan didn't mind that, though. After all, she wasn't the one with severe lacerations across their arm, THAT pleasure belonged to the lad. It was his own fault, really. Staying in one place while fighting a Yamanaka was just foolish, it didn't take a genius to realize that. Still, he wasn't dead or anything, so Sylvan decided she had executed a great deal of restraint.

At any rate, Sena was about to explain what to do. She memorized he hand signs as Sena performed then, and took in the explanation. It all seemed quite rudimentary, in all honesty. The hard part would bet eh initial step, in which she would infuse the air around her with chakra. Was she had figured out how, it was simply a matter of regulating her output until the desired effect was achieved. So, in essence, an unknowable period of frusteration followed by several hours of brute force practicing.
"I understand. How do I send my chakra into the air without it just dispersing?" Sylvan asks. After all, she was much more comfortable using water as a medium. Air was a bit of a new concept to her.

"You need to do all you can to try and keep the chakra filled winds around you, pushing you up but then circling back down to do so again," Seresana replied. "I always tried to think of it as a sphere surrounding me and the chakra was kept inside, constantly circling about to keep the winds going, and keep me in the air," she went on. "I can show you, but unless you could see the chakra actually moving the wind, I don't think it'd do much..." Seresana left her sentence hanging as a new idea came to her and her eyes drifted downwards to the water below. "Oh, let me try and show you, now try and watch the water's spray," Seresana said as she quickly went through the series of handsigns and performed the jutsu, jumping off the branch as the winds picked up. The orchestrated updraft caught her shortly afterwards though and then Seresana slowly lowered herself towards the water's surface.

Small waves began to form from the wind, gradually getting bigger as Seresana lowered herself more and more. At some point though, the water started doing something a little strange, it seemed to be generating waves in a spreading circle outwards, but also a smaller one inside. This phenomenon would only be able to be seen for a second though as Seresana lowered herself just a little bit farther and water was suddenly pulled upwards from the winds of the jutsu, instantly soaking the little girl. The surprise of the action though was enough to break her thoughts on the jutsu and as the wind died down Seresana plummeted the incredibly short distance into the water below with a yelp of surprise. She resurfaced almost immediately, shaking her head and wiping the water from her eyes. "Pfft, okay maybe not quite like that!" she called up already turning a little red from the embarrassment.

Seresana sensei's first try Empty
PostSubject: Re: Seresana sensei's first try   Seresana sensei's first try I_icon_minitimeFri Feb 12, 2016 3:29 pm

Sylvan nods, her mind already turning the analogy Seresana had used end over end, over and over in an effort to decipher and apply it. She has sounded quite sure of herself, so it stood to reason she probably knew what she was talking about. This was of course reinforced by the fact that she could actually perform the Jutsu. Though there was such a thing as natural talent, Sylvan got the impression that Sylvan had learned this properly, that is, through effort. All of this meant that the analogy she had described was more than likely a sound one, and thus perfectly serviceable as a concentration aid. This was really quite fortunate, since Sylvan was still learning Chakra control. Her control over her spirit was quite good (for someone her age, of course. Older members of her family were much more skilled, but she was doing quite well none the less. She was certainly possessed of better control than someone without any Yamanaka training in the ways of the spirit, such as Seresana. No offense meant, of course), due to both her extensive training as a Yamanaka and her long hours of introspection in the forest. The forest, she had found much to her delight was a wonderful place to practice honing her mental and physical abilities. This carried significant fortune, since it was possibly the only place apart from her own home in which she felt at ease. A sense of peace was necessary in order to recover from long days of dealing with other people, a task Sylvan found highly unpleasant.
Pulling her thoughts back to the analogy and her own flow of Chakra, Sylvan put her mind to the task. Unfortunately, there were several problems. It wasn't that she couldn't send out her chakra; while she was sitll a novice in chakra control, even a novice could usually be counted on to perform the most basic function of the field, else they deserved not even that much rank. And in truth, the analogy did help. It gave her some idea of what she was supposed to do. However, it was insufficient. Sylvan needed a better idea of exactly how the chakra should move the wind around her, or else she would be exhausted long before she managed to so much as hover. She didn't exactly have an abundance of chakra with which to work from, after all. Freshly-made Genin tended not to. Fortunately, Seresana was already preparing to give her such a visual aid. Sylvan approved of her idea, immediately grasping what she was proposing. The ocean spray would follow the wind, letting Sylvan view the exact air currents Seresana was making.
Sylvan watches with interest as Seresana hovers through the air, her keen eyes picking up some of the faint movements of dust even before Sena had gotten to the water. Once she did though, it became very clear. The effect seemed similar to an vertical elliptical orbit of the wind, mirrored continuously in a circle around the area below Sena. The wind pushed her up, the went away form her with a force based on her desired direction, then circled back down to repeat the process. It was very neat and orderly, but there was a small problem that was becoming readily apparent as Sylvan observed the process. While the sea foam was useful in that it allowed Sylvan to actually see in detail what Seresana was doing, this involved the sea foam being apart of the orbit. Sylvan bit her lip, unsure if she should say something. If this was an intended part of the demonstration, a further layer of the analogy, Sylvan shouldn't interrupt. After all, that could disrupt the concentration needed to perform the Jutsu, plunging her [s]beloved[/s] Sena into the waters below. This would not do, for several reasons. Mainly, it would disrupt the teaching process, a trial Sylvan would rather not Sena undergo during her first attempt to convey a complex piece of information. The second reason, of course, was that Sylvan doubts that Seresana was particularly inclined to be soaked to the bone.
However, these reasons also applied to not warning her teacher for the day. If she was unaware of the danger, which seemed likely given how much concentration was probably required to move wind around in such a way, then all those problems would happen once enough water was in the system to break free of the orbit, and hit her. So caught up in indecisiveness, Sylvan watched sadly as Sena plummeted into the water. 'Apparently she didn't notice.' Unfortunate, but Sena see me din no actual danger. She could, of course, swim. "Are you alright?" Sylvan asks hesitantly. Once she had (hopefully) received an affirmative from Seresana, Sylvan would begin her preparations to attempt the Jutsu. She'd start by climbing onto one of the other branches above her. This one not only extended out over the deeper section of the waters, but was also thick and sturdy enough to support her weight. More importantly, it was wide enough for her to stand on. She wasn't sure if standing was required for the Jutsu, but she found it easier to move her chakra while upright. Either way, she begin to focus. The first step was going into a state of thought that she could micro-manage her chakra. She'd eventually have to learn to do this subconsciously, but that could wait until she had actually performed the skill. Levitation would be an excellent way to practice chakra control. Sylvan pushes her chakra out into the air, moving it down and around in an attempt to mimic the motion of the water she'd observed before Sylvan fell. It was actually much easier to think of the air as water, rather than air. Air was invisible, and far to capricious. Water was subtle, but in a way that had beauty rather than one that would attempt to murder you at the first opportunity. Not that water was any less brutal, of course. The number of people who had lost their life in the undertow of the tide could attest to that. Rather, Water had a sense of ... Honor about it. It did not suffer fools, but at the same time it rewarded those who made the effort to treat it with respect, who catered to it. It was not invisible, its currents were plain as day for those who had the sense to look. From this idea, she mounded her visual aid. A bubble of water replaced the bubble of air Sena had described. It moved clearly, matching the air currents she could feel around her. The image became set in her mind, matching up with reality. She pushed, bending her chakra to the will of her soul, and her soul to the will of her mind. It flowed outward, mingling with the water and air, taking hold of it in the same way roots anchor the soil. From there, she began to push it along in the pattern gradually building the speed and force needed to lift her weight.

"Yeah, I'm okay," she said quickly from where she swam down below. Seresana started making her way over to the shore as Sylvan began her attempt, though she looked up as she swam over. It didn't take her long to reach the shore and pull herself up onto it, immediately glad that it was decently warm and sunny out. As she stood up on the shore, Seresana wrung out some of the water of her clothes before sitting back down on the grass with her legs stretched out and her hands used to keep her upright. From this slightly reclined sitting position, Seresana continued to observe Sylvan's attempt.

"Looks good so far," Seresana called up from where she sat and waited to dry off more.

Sylvan was having some slight issues. She could mimic the basic motion, but it tended to sort of ... She was not sure how to put it. "Go everywhere" might be the best way, but who knew? Semantics were always a constant struggle, even in the privacy of her own head. It gnawed on her, during those lonely (Lonely implied she desired social interaction of any kind, which was a complete misinterpretation of her feelings on the matter 'Shut up!' 'Make me!') nights out in the grove. Beside semantics, there were also deep, soul-searching bought some of introspection, followed by an attempt to make coffee from acorns that didn't taste foul. 'On reflection, we may have too much lack of focus to perform this.' Back to the problem at hand. She was still solidifying the pattern. She had to get a stable flow going, then slip into a state of mind where she could maintain that automatically. Of course, this all relied on the idea that she could solidify the pattern which was proving to be quite the challenge. Thinking of the air as water had helped significantly, but that did not change the fact that it was still Air, and therefor a capricious streak of waste. 'We may need to seek help. We are literally holding a grudge over air.' Regardless, the air was being extremely uncooperative. She was not as attuned to it as Sena was, so that could've been part of it.Every time she tried to hold it in place, it would fly out from under her, leaving the whol process unbalanced. This would be clearly evident to Sena, as the unnatural air currents knocked leaf after leaf after leaf to the ground. Still, she was improving, that much was clear. The winds were being reigned in, corralled into the pattern needed for liftoff. The air as water but still air was slowly bending to her will. Granted, she wouldn;t mind it doing so a bit quicker. She would rather not leave this poor, poor tree leafless in the first attempt. That wouldn't do at all, oh no. Sylvan couldn't, wouldn't, bear it, especially not in the case of such a tree as this one. IT had so kindly been perfectly suited to the needs of her and her Sena, she did not want to harm it. To repay such compassion with damages wouldn't do at all. How could she show her face around the forest. She had to get this under control, and quickly.
Unfortunately, such haste would be her downfall, at least in this case. Her attempt to focus the winds had apparently offended them, as they snapped back into place. She certainly got the it under her, but it didn;t stop their. Instead, she was launched into the airs above the water. With a startled Yelp, she plummeted into the really quite frigid waters below.

Seresana watched the attempt as well as she could, and did her best to garner where Sylvan was having her troubles with the jutsu. Then suddenly Sylvan launched upwards and Seresana sat up abruptly as Sylvan plummeted towards the waters below. She winced at the splash but was confident that Sylvan was more or less okay since the water got deeper that far out. Still, Seresana climbed to her feet and walked over to the edge of the water. "You okay Sylvan?" Seresana called out as she searched for signs of her friend. In preparation of the 'just worst case' situation, Seresana was already starting to focus her chakra to prepare for a new casting of the levitation jutsu to get out to where Sylvan fell in quickly. Even if it was just water, Sylvan had seemed to have been launched pretty far up and out, she could possibly have been hurt.

Sylvan quickly surfaces form the waters, having landed in a deep portion. She took some pride in that while the air had managed to confound her in the end, the waters did not betray her. Besides, she had still conquered the wind, if only briefly. With that accomplishment, she was certain that this could be done. It would take a fair bit of effort (as most new things did), but it was within her abilities at this time. Meanwhile, the water had cushioned her fall. She was well aware her water affinity was nothing to yell about, that there were plenty of people more skilled in it than she. Nevertheless, she did enjoy its presence, and the affinity was strong enough that she could recognize it. She loved her forests and trees, but that was a love form afar. She played amongst them, admired them, used them, but there wasn't a connection. Not in the same way she had with the water. On the other hand, she was not nearly as good at functioning amidst the pond as she was in the forest. She would need to work on that, once she had figured out this levitation business.
The drenched girl turns to Sena, her hair plastered around her neck. Standing up, she rose above the water's surface by about a foot. Wading over to Sena, she embraced the other girl. "I'm fine Sena."

Seresana let out a sigh as Sylvan resurfaced and she stood up straight while Sylvan waded over to the shore. She even started to giggle a little as Sylvan embraced her. Though she quickly struggled out of it while protesting, "Sylvan, you're all wet still, and I just started to dry off!" Though it was obvious that she was was mostly just playing around. Still, once she was free of the embrace, Seresana looked up at Sylvan with a grin. "That was a good first try, you at least managed to get in the air. All I did the first time was fall over," Seresana said with a little chuckle as a hand went up to scratch the back of her head.

"And it looks like using the tree was a good choice too, that fall might have seriously hurt otherwise," Seresana added. "It looked like you had the right idea, you just need to work on refining and focusing the wind currents, keeping them closer together and in a more constrained pattern. It'll take some practice obviously, but if this early progress is anything of a sign, you'll probably have it roughly down before the end of the day," Seresana said reassuringly.
