More Sparring

Nathan just sat on a large rock as he waited for his sparring partner to arrive. He had not waited more than a few minutes and was happy for the small breeze that pressed across the area. A stream run along the area, cutting the place into two pieces. It was easy to cross the slow moving tide because it hadn’t even gotten higher than his ankles. The trees cut off about twenty feet away from the stream and the grass was in patches, shifting between lush green to dirt brown, most likely because of others using this point to train.

The young uchiha wore a grey t-shirt with the clan symbol on his back along with some black shorts. He had also brought a grocery bag that had his lunch inside of it and it sat at the base of the rock. His attention shifted constantly, expecting her to see up show up sometime soon.

As Nathan sat on his earthen chair, he'd see an extremely pale and slender girl approaching with icy blue hair and emerald eyes frolicking towards him from alongside the stream. Her outfit consisted of a tank top that was cut off at the belly and a pair of short shorts, her hair done in a braid that trailed down to her butt. Seeing her sparring partner waiting for her, she smiled brightly and waved enthusiastically at him. "Hi Nathan! Hope I didn't make you wait too long! It takes forever to get this hair of mine done up for sparring." Kiora called to him as she got closer

Finally stopping several yards away from him, she spotted his lunch, her raising an eyebrow in confusion. "You planning on hanging around afterwards for lunch, or did I really take that long getting here? Ah well, doesn't matter now. Shall we get started." Kiora asked as she stepped into stance, left foot forward parallel with her left arm, which she extended, but kept relaxed, her right arm guarding her torso. "I'm guessing you know primarily taijutsu as well, so lets keep it simple shall we? No need to accidentally hurt each other on the outskirts from town eh?"

The caramel colored young man gave her responded with a wave of his own before sliding off the rock. He gave another wave to prove that he didn't mind. "Only about ten minutes, I think." He shrugged since the Sun sucked at telling you have many minutes passed and sometimes even hours. He glanced down at his lunch and he was about talk his plans for after the sparring match, but Kiora didn't care any more and topics shifted back to their training. Nathan simply nodded at the question that dealing with his fighting ability and moved into a simple stance. His arms were held up in front of his head and with his waist being directly under his elbows, both being 2 inches away from his body. His legs were slightly beyond shoulder length apart with his right being a foot in front of the other with his left heel being raised as well. "Agreed." He said while waiting in his stance.

Kiora nodded at him as he slipped into stance, signifying that he was ready to begin. Exhaling, she took three steps forwards at him, snapping a punch forward with her left hand at his face, retracting it just as fast as she turned into a rear horse kick aimed at his midsection. Pulling her leg back, Kiora then swept low, aiming to sweep his legs out from underneath him, keeping her eyes on his expressions as she conducted her offense, looking for a tell as she tested his defenses for a weakness. She was fairly certain she was a good bit quicker than him, but he was most assuredly stronger and sturdier than herself, something she'd have to work around in this session of theirs.

Nathan simply twisted his upper body somewhat so that the punch could hit the side of his arm. It stung a little and was barely noticeable as he reacted to the kick horse kick directed at him. The spin had given him enough time to register the attack and quickly came up with a solution to avoid injury. He reacted to it in a similar fashion as he would with a strong jab. He shuffled back and used his right to push kick down as he kept his left close to him. His expression remained the same outside of the small tightening of his face as he knocked down the kick.

Internally, he scolded have himself for not dodging the kick and simply grab it to keep Kiora off balance and later get her off her feet. Yet, he instead reacted defensively and stepped away from the attack. It didn't keep him from moving back into his stance as it was before, but with a small grimace that faded back to his usual expression.

Kiora stepped forward as he backed off from her, throwing two quick punches directly at his face to distract him while she took an additional step forward with her left foot, getting right up close to him so she could quite literally raise her right foot up slightly, and step on the inside of his left knee to try and collapse him down to his knee. If this was successful, she'd place his head between her right side and arm, and using her arm like a pair of pliers, begin to vicegrip his neck in a guillotine choke hold. Otherwise she'd just keep her guard close after the two quick punches, and wait for his action.

Nathan repeated his actions from the kick and swatted down the first punch before moving his upper body down and a little to his left so that he could move under the second strike. Then, he found himself near the ncoming kick. Now, with him down low and his hands at the ready like they should always be, he instinctively tried to grab Kiora's foot and pull it so that he could get her off balance. If it was a real fight, then he would have brought his arm down leg in order to hurt it though this was a sparring match and he didn't want to overdo it.

Kiora seemed rather surprised as he willing bent over to reach her foot that was only at his knee's level. With a bemused expression, she simply used the superior strength of her leg to follow through on her plan, stepping down on his knee, his grab offering little resistance to both gravity and her leg muscles. Reaching with her arm now, she wrapped it around his head and began to vicegrip his throat, executing the guillotine he so easily exposed himself to. "What on earth was he thinking?" She pondered as she contemplated his choice of defensive conduct.

Nathan wasn't someone all that trained in martial arts and relied on instinct more often than he should. Actual thoughts took place a few after he acted. Of course he knew a good number of moves to put him above some of his classmates, but he was still a beginner. Now, he was put into a headlock and naturally went to grab her arm in order to keep from blacking out in a few moments, his hands being placed onto the middle of her forearm and at the bend of her arm. Yes, his hands should have went for the wrist, but he still learning how to properly fight. He would try to pull his head out as he grabbed her arms.

Kiora clenched tighter, and drove a knee upwards at his solar plexus while she still had him under her control for the moment. Still, as he tugged at her arm, she opted to be kind, and released him from the choke hold. She jumped back a few feet, giving him a moment to get his breathe back "Silly Nathan! Why'd you try to grab my foot way below my foot ya dummie? just beggin' for a little chokin' eh?" Stepping back into stance, she gestured at him. "You 'bout ready to get back at it? Or do ya need a few moments? Take you're time, I'm in no rush. I only want to have dinner sometime this year." She smirked at him, a big grin plastered on his face.

Nathan gave a loud grunt as leg found body and he stumbled backwards a bit as he tried to recover. He was trying his best to return to regular breathing as Kiora simply joked about his screw up and was got frustrated at himself. He had made a dumb mistake and in a real fight, the cheerful, happy go lucky girl, would have killed him in a minute at max. He didn't bother with a response and went back into his stance. They could talk after they were done. He went back into his stance quickly as the girl asked him if he needed a moment or two. "Ready." He said while adjusting himself once again in order to get back into position.
